Disney Reportedly Wants Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow Back In Pirates Of The Caribbean 6

Disney executives are reportedly lobbying to bring Johnny Depp back in Pirates of The Caribbean franchise.

Depp's justice warriors may have another reason to celebrate soon as Disney is reportedly considering bringing Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow back for the Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

This is interesting progress following recent rumors that Amber Heard is fired from the Aquaman franchise.

According to reports, the turnabout has something to do with the $50 million defamation lawsuit Johnny Depp filed against estranged wife Amber Heard and the massive public support behind Johnny.

We Got This Covered claimed that an intel of theirs said that, " the recent turn of events in Depp’s legal battle and the overwhelming support from the public in his favor has some of the Mouse House executives now lobbying for his return behind the scenes."

The entertainment website is very confident with their sources too and said, "we’ve no reason to doubt them," especially after the same people have tipped them a couple of insider info long before they were officially announced in the past.

The DisInsider’s Skyler Shuler has teased about Depp's return too.

“Hopefully, I can confirm some stuff soon!” Shuler tweeted with a suggestive wink emoji together with the Pirates of The Caribbean logo.

As to what extent will Johnny Depp's role be in the next sequel is still unknown.

Shuler tweeted another update 5 days later where he revealed that the Pirates of Caribbean "could be a soft reboot" just like Bumblebee.

"Hearing from different people that PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN could be a “soft reboot,” like BUMBLEBEE. So, Sparrow could possibly be involved, I don’t know if that means starring role or cameo, or just a film in the same universe." Shuler said.

This doesn't come as a shock as Disney has already announced way back in 2018 that they are looking for a fresh new take on the franchise.

“We want to bring in a new energy and vitality. I love the [Pirates] movies, but part of the reason Paul and Rhett are so interesting is that we want to give it a kick in the pants. And that’s what I’ve tasked them with.” Sean Bailey, President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Recent reports said that Disney is eyeing Jumanji and Avengers: Endgame actress Karen Gillan to play Redd and replace Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow for the lead role.

With this in mind, it looks like Karen Gillan's Redd is set to lead the course of the movie while Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow may indeed only play a small part in the Pirates of The Caribbean 6.

It’s been three years since the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
The fifth installment Dead Men Tell No Tales grossed  $795 million worldwide.

Fans find it impossible to imagine the franchise without Depp and they have been doing their best to bring Johnny Depp back to the franchise.

An online petition to reinstate Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow has already amassed almost 200,000 signatures as of this writing.
