'Dickinson' Season 3 Plot: What Will Happen In 'Dickinson' Season 3?

Creator Alena Smith has already written the scripts for season 3, and she revealed that the pandemic has greatly influenced her work on the upcoming season.

"(I) didn't know that when I started writing a show about Emily Dickinson that we'd be living through a situation that trapped everybody in their own houses." Smith told Town and Country, "We were writing season three over the summer and fall in the pandemic, and I would say that that experience certainly came to bear on the writing of season three."

In season 2, Emily Dickinson is working on having a poem published in Springfield Daily Republican. In real life, that happened in 1861, which the same year the Civil War began. While some people speculated that season 3 would be set during the Civil War, Smith only tweeted:

"Me doing press for Dickinson Season 3: "THEY were living through the Civil War. We are living through the Streaming Wars,"
