Den Of Thieves 2: Pantera features another heist story inspired by actual events. Filming is expected to begin in late Spring.

Den Of Theives

For the lovers of action films, nothing is better than knowing that a movie is based on real-life events. Den of Thieves satisfied that craving after it released an action-packed movie on January 19, 2018, based on the real-life attempt to rob the Federal Reserve in Los Angeles.

The film starring Gerard Butler grossed more than $80 Million worldwide against a budget of $30 Million.

A sequel was announced just a month after Den Of Thieves was released in theaters, and in 2019, the sequel was officially titled Den Of Thieves 2: Pantera.

Here are all the latest updates you need to know about Den Of Thieves 2: Pantera.

Den Of Thieves

What Will Be The Plot Of 'Den Of Thieves 2: Pantera?'

Den Of Thieves follows Nicholas "Big Nick" O'Brien (Butler), a fearless detective from LA County Sheriff's Department who's on a chase for a ruthless gang of bank robbers in Los Angeles. The dauntless thieves are on a quest to rob the Federal Reserve, and it's up to "Big Nick" to bring them down.

In June 2020, Den Of Thieves' main star Butler spoke to Entertainment Weekly and revealed recent updates on the follow-up flick.

Den of Thieves 2 will bring the action across continents, from North America to Europe and the diamond district of Marseilles.

Butler was careful not to give more spoilers but promised us that we will still see the bartender Donnie (Jackson) and Lobbin' Bob (Bridges) in the sequel.

Den of Thieves Director Christian Gudegast previously revealed to Screen Rant that the sequel would be based on the Antwerp diamond exchange heist of 2003.

Donnie (Jackson) will be on the run together with the former Pink Panther mafia following a diamond heist gone wrong.

He will be chased by Nick O'Brien (Butler), who recently moved to Europe to escape his problems in LA.

In September 2021, Gerard Butler gave us an update on the status of the sequel and says that the film will be a more "fun, sexy journey."

"We’re supposed to shoot early next year," the actor said via Collider.

"We’re Europe-bound, we’re still on the hunt for Donnie who’s now on the diamond district in Marseilles. I go over to hunt him down, but with different intentions than you might imagine. So we’re gonna be in Marseilles, the Alps and London – it’s definitely a more glamorous journey than the last one, and probably a more fun, sexy journey."
