Another thrilling K-drama that debuted on Netflix this year is Dear Hongrang.
The 11-episode season, which is based on Jang Da-hye’s novel “Tangeum: Swallowing Gold,” stars Lee Jae-wook, Jo Bo-ah, Jung Ga-ram, Uhm Ji-won, Park Byung-eun, Kim Jae-wook, and others. What is the plot of Season 1 of Dear Hongrang?
The K-drama centers on the Sim family during the Joseon period, when their success is attributed to their artistic endeavors. They suffer tragedy when their son, Hong-rang, vanishes and reappears ten years later, having lost all recollection of his identity. Furthermore, he is now an assassin who has little tolerance for his alleged family and is no longer a nobleman.
His half-sister, Jae-yi’s relief is short-lived as she doesn’t believe the man in front of her is the same Hong-rang who had protected her from the abusive matriarch. She decides to find out, which presents issues for Hong-rang, who has a hidden agenda of his own to attend to. Amid all of this, their adopted brother Mu-jin starts his own research because the reappearance of the legitimate heir threatens his status.
Has Dear Hongrang Been Renewed For Season 2?
As of this writing, Dear Hongrang has not received a Season 2 renewal from Netflix.
