Big news on the Deadpool 3 front – the much-anticipated film has officially wrapped filming, and Ryan Reynolds, the man behind the Merc with the Mouth, took to Instagram to share the exciting update.

In a recent post, Reynolds shared his thoughts on the completion of filming, giving a shout-out to the hardworking cast and crew who weathered various challenges. He humorously noted, “The suit hides blood. Also sweat… But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it’s mostly tears.”

Expressing his gratitude, Reynolds thanked the dedicated team who faced everything from wind and rain to strikes. And of course, he couldn't resist mentioning Hugh Jackman, adding a playful touch to the announcement. "A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes and @thehughjackman… all under the stalwart leadership of @slevydirect,” wrote Reynolds.

Adding a personal touch to the announcement, Reynolds reflected on the unique experience of making the movie. "I got to make a movie with my closest pals, and that doesn’t happen very often. See ya July 26th,” he teased.

Deadpool 3, a Marvel Studios production, faced its fair share of challenges. After a hiatus due to an actors' strike in November, the team resumed production, making it one of the few feature productions to swiftly resume in the late fall. Other notable films that followed suit included Warner Bros’ Beetlejuice 2, Paramount’s Gladiator 2, Sony’s Venom 3, and Warner’s Juror No. 2.

The film had reached approximately 50% completion before the actors' strike disrupted proceedings in mid-July 2023. Deadpool 3 was set to hit theaters on the first weekend of May, a coveted spot on the calendar traditionally held by Marvel. However, due to the prolonged actors' strike, the release date was pushed to July 26th.

Shawn Levy, the director of Deadpool 3, had teased fans about the film's direction back in September at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Levy shared, “We wanted something that felt grounded, real… You put Hugh Jackman in his most iconic character alongside Ryan Reynolds in his most iconic character; it’s more of a descendant of Midnight Run, and 48 Hours, and Planes, Trains and Automobiles more than it’s a descendant of Airplane.”

So, mark your calendars for July 26th, as Deadpool 3 promises a unique blend of humor, action, and the iconic pairing of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Despite the challenges faced during production, the team has delivered, and fans can look forward to another epic installment in the Deadpool franchise. Stay tuned for more updates as we count down the days to the Merc with the Mouth's return to the big screen!
