A new study suggests that DC Comics is more popular than Marvel comics. Read on to know more about it.
There has been a million dollar question that a lot of us wanted an answer to. And well, the question is about which one's the best - whether it is DC or Marvel? Batman or Antman? But, according to a recent study, DC Comics is the most favored comic publisher over their competition at Marvel. The study, that has been conducted by USDish, is one of the country's premiere resellers of Dish cable products. Even though it is not scientific research, the data available from the Google Trends showed that DC was favored over Marvel in 32 states.
Marvel, on the other hand, was favored in 14 states and the other four states Alaska, Hawaii, New Mexico, and Kentucky could not decide between the two. This news certainly comes as a surprise, since Marvel is having one of biggest, best, and the most profitable years in history from the chart-topping Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel in theaters and the publishing work that has seen a major return of comic events.
The House of Ideas also dominated the same survey this time last year. This study has also screened what characters the states liked the best. Even though most of the responses were expected there were some surprises in the results.
The most popular character was Superman as he topped in eight states. Hulk and Supergirl came in second with seven states each while Batman and Thor followed close by with five states. What is even more surprising is that Captain America and Iron Man were nowhere near the top solo spot and they were tied for the most popular character in Utah.
Green Lantern, surprisingly finished first in both Kansas and Michigan while Green Arrow got the top spot in Montana. The other characters that came out as one-state favorites are Aquaman, Captain Marvel, Robin, Star-Lord, and Wonder Woman. The upcoming DC movies include 'Joker' on October 10, 'Birds of Prey' on February 7, 2020, 'Wonder Woman' 1984 on June 5, 2020, 'The Batman' on June 25, 2021, 'The Suicide Squad' on August 6, 2021, and Aquaman 2on December 16, 2022.
