Daniel Radcliffe addressed the rumors about him being cast to play Wolverine in the MCU.

The X-Men will be making a comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The question plaguing everyone's mind now is whether it will be the same cast from the Fox version or a complete rehauling.

Rumors were circulating the web about Hugh Jackman being replaced by the Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe in MCU's X-Men. Radcliffe had remained hush about the rumors, until now.

During an interview with Comicbook, Radcliffe responded to the rumors saying:

So many times, people come to me like, ‘hey man, heard the Wolverine news, that’s pretty cool.’ No, I don’t know anything about it. Like, I appreciate that somebody is clearly going like ‘Wolverine’s actually short in the comic books, you should get like a short guy to do it!
But I don’t see myself, I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me. But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel.

So it seems like Radcliffe has hinted that he might be interested but there has been no discussion about it between him and Marvel.

Rocketman star Taron Egerton was also rumored to be playing Wolverine but he quickly shut down those rumors during an interview on The One Show. He said:

There’s no truth in it at all. There’s no truth in it. It would be, obviously, really exciting, but I don’t know. Yeah, of course. That’s like playing Bond. It would be exciting to play a role where you play to by such a huge audience. Those movies are the most watched movies in the world. It’s a great thrill and it’s a great part. But there’s no truth in it. Very flattering, though.

So it's clear that none of the rumors about who will be replacing Hugh Jackman, if any, are true. There is a huge possibility that Hugh Jackman may be convinced to return as Wolverine for another string of movies. Marvel's massive bank account can be very convincing even to the most stubborn of actors.

Who do you think will make a good replacement for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine?
