Netflix's 'Cursed' Season 1: Release Date, Plot, Trailer, Cast And More

Netflix has just recently dropped the official trailer for Cursed giving us valuable information regarding the show's release date and more.

The upcoming fantasy series is an addition to Netflix's growing medieval themed, sword-wielding list of series like 'The Witcher' and 'The Letter for the King'.

When Is The Release Date Of 'Cursed'? 

'Cursed' is set to premiere on Netflix next month, July 17, 2020. The streaming giant has just released the official trailer yesterday, June 18, 2020, giving us the first glimpse of the re-imagined Arthurian legend.

What Is The Plot Of Cursed And What Can We Expect From The Series?

Cursed is based on  Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler's illustrated novel of the same name. It is a re-imagination of the Arthurian legend following the story of Nimue, a young heroine destined to be the powerful Lady of the Lake.

Katherine Langford previously played Hannah Baker in Netflix's '13 Reasons Why' and is set to play the lead role for the upcoming fantasy series.

In the trailer, we saw Nimue claiming the legendary blade, Excalibur, as she dramatically emerges in a lake. One of the trailer's highlights includes Nimue saying, "The legend says this sword belongs to the one true king. But, what if the sword chooses a queen?"

We can expect to see how Nimue transforms from a girl to a powerful Lady of The Lake as she uses the legendary sword to fight the Red Paladins and ensure her people's freedom.

The first season will have ten episodes directed by Jon East, Daniel Nettheim, Zetna Fuentes, and Sarah O'Gorman'Gorman.

What Does Cursed's Official Trailer Tell Us?

Cursed's official trailer just dropped yesterday, and it gave us a first look at Katherine Langford's transformation to Nimue in action. It started with Nimue opening her eyes and retelling how the Red Paladins attacked them. The latter wanted to purge their kind for using magic and having the legendary Excalibur in their possession.

Who Will Be In The Cast Of 'Cursed'?

Starring alongside Katherine Langford is Devon Terrell as the legend-traditional sword-puller, Arthur, and Gustaf Skarsgård as the legendary sorcerer, Merlin. Other listed cast members are Emily Coates, Peter Mullan, Bella Dayne, Lily Newmark, Daniel Sherman, Shalom Brune-Franklin, and Sebastian Armesto.

What Are The People's Initial Reaction For Cursed? 

After dropping the trailer, Cursed has gained several shout outs on social media. While there were people who expressed they can't wait to see Langford on the series, there were also those who disagreed with her getting cast for the role claiming the show was whitewashed.
