Other movies from of the Color Force production that managed to get nominated, was Ryan Murphy's series 'Pose', 'The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story', and 'Crazy Rich Asians' Story', reports The Hollywood Reporter.

'Crazy Rich Asians' managed to accumulate nearly $238 million worldwide, and not just that, it also managed nominated for two major Golden Globes, 'Best Motion Picture Comedy' and actress Constance Wu for 'Best Motion Picture Comedy Actress.'

The cast who performed exceptionally good in 'Crazy Rich Asians' is in high demand now after the announcement of Golden Globes nominations. The cast includes Genna Chan, Sonoya Mizuno, Awkwafina, Henry Golding and the one and only Michelle Yeoh. Since the demand is high, fans can expect to have a sequel of 'Crazy Rich Asians' now!

Looking at the number of nominations and awards Color Force production has achieved, Jacobson said, “There’s a great appetite both commercially and critically to see these types of stories, ones which used to be overlooked by an industry that tended to favor stories by people who look like corporate boardrooms instead of audiences,”

She continued, "Audiences have been ready for a while — it’s corporate and the studios who are just waking up, and this year has proved it. The fact that three best picture titles center around black characters (Black Panther, If Beale Street Could Talk and BlacKkKlansman) and another with Asian characters reflect the sea of change we’re seeing.”

Jacobson also talked about how the cast owns some of the extremely talented actors and he appreciated the breakthroughs and “the incredible talent who’ve been given the platform to shine.” She added further saying, “When Ryan Murphy says something is going to be great, everybody believes him; when Jon Chu says I know how to tell the story of Crazy Rich Asians and I have a vision for it, all these folks are hard to resist."

When talked about the sequel of 'Crazy Rich Asians' Jacobson and Simpson informed Deadline that they are planning to shoot the sequel back-to-back, something similar as the final two Back to the Future movies and Matrix movies. The entire thing is only possible depending on the availability of the talents since Chu is currently working on the feature adaption of the Tony Award winner 'In the Heights'.

Therefore, once she is done shooting for the movie, it is more likely that the preparation of 'Crazy Rich Asians' 2 and 3 will start for a 2020 shoot. They also shared that the script presently is worked on by Adele Lim and Peter Chiarelli.

As far as the waiting of the fan is concerned, the directors and producers will make sure to cover it up for the wait. As Jacobson said, "We’ll make it up to them on the back end, by shooting two films together.” Apart from 'Crazy Rich Asians', the next American Crime Story is most likely to focus on 'Katrina' which depends on the producer duo.

But, for now, it is a time for celebration for the cast of 'Crazy Rich Asians', especially for Constance Wu for winning a nomination for the 'Best Motion Picture Comedy Actress'. She said that she is shocked, but at the same time, she is grateful. She said, "Part of the significance of this is … for so long Asian-Americans have been in film and TV, but we've always been supporting another culture's story. We've never been leading our culture's story."

She continued, "To have a place like America recognize, invest and then show up to go see it? That's huge. I'm glad that even though people weren't talking about this drought before, that they are talking about it now. Because that's the first thing you've got to do: Talk about it and then take action."

She also talked about how excited and 'psyched' she found out that the Golden Globes, this year will be hosted by Andy Samberg. She said, "Talk about somebody for whom recognition is long overdue. She has really been one of the pioneers because her talent is so extraordinary. To have her front and center onstage hosting and then to have my nomination be also a centering story is so cool. She's one of my biggest heroes."
