Chinese Man Proposes To Girlfriend With 99 iPhones In Heart Shape, She Still Says No

Though it didn’t all go quite as intended, a young Chinese man tried to commemorate China’s Singles Day by proposing to his girlfriend.

From Guangzhou province, the programmer paid the equivalent of two years’ pay for 99 iPhone 6s to probably wow his lover.

Arranging nearly £50,000 worth of Apple hardware in a heart shape outside their workplace, the computer worker clutched a bouquet of roses as a small crowd gathered to see the young man’s poignant proposal – and to record the moment on their smart phones.

Unfortunately, the man’s girlfriend was less than impressed and turned him down in front of friends and colleagues, who then immediately shared the exchange on China’s social media network Weibo.

Most simply rejected the man’s gesture as “stupid,” Weibo users were utterly bored with local media reporting.

Originally developed several years ago, China’s “Single’s Day” has become a global sensation regularly praised as the “biggest online shopping day in the world” as millions of Chinese singles use the web to purchase presents.

Among them could be this young man shopping for a present to make himself happier. Alternatively, he has 99 iPhones he can flog.
