Will the promising Korean political drama series return to Netflix for season 3?
Chief Of Staff is one of Netflix's best addition to its growing list of Kdramas.
The political drama series revolves around politicians and their aides who are caught in the games of power and influence.
Chief Of Staff's first two seasons received great patronage from the audience. Is it enough to guarantee another season? Let's find out?
There is no official announcement for Chief Of Staff season 3 yet.
It's been seven months since fans were treated with season 2's last episode.
Season 2 premiered both on Netflix and JTBC on November 11, 2019, and aired its 10th and final episode on December 10, 2019.
Netflix has been investing in a lot of international titles and found a gold mine in the Kdrama series. Fans can only hope that Netflix would consider the series' good following as enough reason to secure season 3.
On the other hand, fans should also prepare their hearts for the possibility that the show is never coming back.
Following the end of season 2, lead casts of the show have already said their goodbyes to fans and viewers.
"Thank you to the viewers who loved [the drama] for the long time of six months starting from season one. I was happy acting as Jang Tae Joon, who challenged himself and changed during each episode." Lead actor Lee Jung Jae said via Soompi.
Chief Of Staff follows Jang Tae-Joon, a young man fresh from the University. He was once a detective but decided to join as an aide in the National Assembly to gain more power.
He worked as the chief aide to a 4-time lawmaker. Armed with great intuitive skills and tremendous intelligence, Jang succeeded in securing his boss a spot as a party representative.
As the series progresses, Jang meets Kang Seon-Yeong, a neophyte lawmaker who is elected through proportional representation. Both Jang and Kang are highly ambitious and talented. The two eventually developed a romantic relationship and started dating secretly while the predicaments surrounding their career grows more and more intense.
Chief Of Staff provides insights into the legislative operation in the Korean government. If the show gets renewed for season 3, we can expect to see more drama and crisis unfold as Jang continues to navigate in the nasty world of politics.
If the show gets renewed for season 3, we are expecting to see Lee Jung-Jae return for his lead role as Jang Tae-Joon. We're also expecting to see Shin Min-a reprise her role as Kang Seon-Yeong, a lawyer, tv show host, and Jang's love interest.
Other casts include Lee Elijah as Yoon Hye-won, Kim Dong-jun as Han Do-kyeong, and Jung Jin-young as Lee Seong-min, among others.
