Carole And Tuesday is an animated series directed by Shinichirō Watanabe that combines music and a futuristic setting. The animated series takes place on a partially terraformed Mars and follows two girls in pursuit of their musical dreams. It's been more than three years since an English dubbed version of the anime series was released on Netflix.
The anime series is still waiting for renewal as of this writing. Studio Bones and Netflix remained silent regarding the show's renewal status despite fans clamoring to find out if the anime series will be returning. However, if we are to look at the series' popularity and performance, there's still a chance for season 3 to happen. 'Carole And Tuesday' is among the most popular anime series on Netflix. The anime series is also well received with a 100% critic rating from Rotten Tomatoes for season 1, although season 2 received a few criticisms for being a little too political than expected.
Unlike other anime series, 'Carole and Tuesday' is not adapted from a manga series but rather the other way around. That means that there is no problem when it comes to the source material for season 3.
The anime series is yet to be confirmed for season 3, so we couldn't give a release date yet. It has been more than three years since season 2 dropped on Netflix, and we continue to wait for any news about the series. Netflix hasn't announced a cancelation but there are reports that the show has been secretly canceled.
'Carole And Tuesday' follows the two titular characters: Carole, an orphaned refugee from Earth, and Tuesday, a teenager who ran away from her affluent family. The two crossed paths and were bonded by their passion for music. They decided to team up as a singer-songwriter duo and pursue their music dreams together on the partially terraformed Mars. But it wouldn't be that easy for them to run away from their identities. As Carole and Tuesday become more and more successful in their career, it gets more difficult for them to deal with the conditions of the music production sector. Political issues get worse and worse on Mars, and all the musicians will have to come together to fight for music freedom.
Being a daughter of a politician, Tuesday can't help but get caught in the middle of the chaos. Thankfully, Tuesday's mom, Valerie, has given up the elections, and this will make a big difference if the series continues to season 3.
There will still be a lot of obstacles heading Carole and Tuesday's way, and we can't wait to see the duo overcome these challenges in the next season.
