Captain Marvel had a stellar opening weekend with a massive worldwide tally of $455 million. Now that's Marvelous!
The Captain Marvel film has been destroyed by trolls over the past couple months, leaving many to believe that the entire franchise was dead in the water. But Captain Marvel found a way to get past the trolls and completely dominate in its opening weekend.
Brie Larson's debut as the high flying Carol Danvers topped this weekend's box office with a whopping $153 million domestic opening weekend. The film's overseas gross added $302 million to the overall tally taking its worldwide earnings to $455 million.
That's the highest opening weekend for any movie in 2019 so far and third highest March opening ever.
Captain Marvel also competed well against her fellow Marvel superheroes with the 7th best opening weekend in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The overall tally of all 21 Marvel Studios films was taken to $17.98 billion and I'm sure will hit $18 billion very soon.
We can now only imagine the monster figures that Avengers: Endgame is going to get. Did you see Captain Marvel this weekend?
