The highly popular Japanese Anime was an instant hit upon its release, and now fans are already wondering when the fourth season is going to come.

'Bungo Stray Dogs' or 'Bungō Sutorei Doggusu' is a Japanese Seinen Anime that first aired in April 2016. Kafka Asagiri writes the anime, and Sango Harukawa does the illustrations. Young Magazine serialized the anime in 2012. The origin of this manga can be traced to the writer's idea himself, where he wanted to gather multiple artists who have passed away and re-imagine their characters as young adults and teenagers who possess supernatural abilities. After the initial publication, it was picked to be aired as a television anime. The first season of the anime aired on April 7, 2016, and was loved by fans and critics alike. Due to its positive reception, it was immediately renewed for a second season that aired just months later in October 2016. The third season came out after three years, and since then, fans are eagerly waiting for the fourth season. Here is everything you need to know about the fourth season of 'Bungo Stray Dogs.' 

When Will Bungo Stray Dogs Season 4 Premiere?


The third season of the show premiered on April 12, 2019, and the third season finale aired on June 28, 2019. An original video episode was released in 2017, titled 'Bungou Stray Dogs: Hitori Ayumu.' Later on, an anime movie titled, 'Bungou Stray Dogs: Dead Apple' was released on March 3, 2018.

On November 2021, the official Twitter account of the anime announced that a fourth season of the anime has been green-lit. 


Crunchyroll also confirmed the news, announcing that the new season will be available for simulcast streaming as it airs in Japan.

The official website also confirmed the new season once again with a brand new trailer. The trailer revealed that the new season will air in January 2023.

What Is The Plot Of Bungo Stray Dogs?


'Bungo Stray Dogs' is primarily a supernatural show that focuses on a group of young detectives who possess supernatural powers. The main protagonist of the show is Atsushi Nakajima. The show, in the beginning, centers around a seemingly normal orphanage from where Atsushi is kicked out because people suspected that he is responsible for the strange happenings in the surroundings. Since he has no food and has nowhere to go after being kicked out, he becomes very hopeless and depressed and is on the verge of death. But, his bad fate takes a turn as he is rescued by a man named Osamu Dazai. Soon enough, he learns that Osamu is a supernatural detective who is trying to solve the case of a mystical tiger, the same one that plagued Atsushi's orphanage. He readily agrees to help Osamu in his crime-solving venture. From there, he is joined by Doppo Kunikida, and the trio is all set to solve the mystery. The show then follows the story of these detectives trying to solve the peculiar case. Later on, the show also explores the tension and the clash that happens with an American Supernatural Organization called The Guild.

The anime centers on a group of people who possess supernatural powers, and they use them for different purposes. Throughout the three seasons, there have been various characters, but below we have given a summarized account of the main characters in the show down below. 

Atsushi Nakajima- This character is named after the famous 20th-century author of the same name. Atsushi is the main protagonist of the show, and the character is inspired by a book written by the writer himself. He is a part of the Armed Detective Agency. Before joining the organization, he used to live in an orphanage before he was thrown out. After this event, he was left traumatized, and since then, he has been trying to find a reason to live. Throughout this, he slowly gets his confidence back in the process. He has the ability to turn into a White Tiger under the moonlight that possesses incredible strength, speed, regenerative capabilities, and durability. But, he has no control over this and doesn't remember his transformation. Later on in the series, he learns that he can transform his limbs into that of a tiger in order to enhance his physical abilities. Even though he's not a very confident man, he has a pure heart and fights for people who he loves and values. 

Osamu Dazai- This character is voiced by Mamoru Miyano and is also named after one of the most well-known fictional writer in Japan from the 20th Century. Osamu is also a member of the Armed Detective Agency. He takes Atsushi under his wings, and he is also known as a suicidal maniac. His primary wish is to commit suicide and die alongside a beautiful woman one day. He is also described to be extremely cunning, intelligent, skilled, and brutal. He has the supernatural ability to completely negate any supernatural ability by touch. 

Doppo Kunikida- Yoshimasa Hosoya voices the character, and he is Dazai's assistant. He is described as having writing and planning everything. He has the ability to bring any object into existence by writing in his notebook. 

The other characters of the show include Ranpo Edogawa, Junichirō Tanizaki, Kenji Miyazawa, Akiko Yosano, Yukichi Fukuzawa, Kyōka Izumi, Kirako Haruno, Naomi Tanizaki, and Katai Tayama.
