'Borderlands' is following the footsteps of popular games that get onscreen adaptations.
An upcoming 'Borderlands' film adaptation is in the works with A-listers like Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart attached to play lead roles.
The film will be helmed by Eli Roth, with Emmy-winning Chernobyl writer Craig Mazin to pen the script.

The plot for the upcoming film adaptation remains a huge secret. However, if the film remains faithful to its source material, we already got clues about what to expect.
Borderlands is a role-playing first-person shooter game that launched in 2009. The third installment of the game series launched in September 2019. The game takes place on the abandoned planet of Pandora and follows Lilith, the most skilled thief in the dystopian world. People on this futuristic planet are looking for a mythical alien vault, in which resides a mysterious relic.
We are expecting to see high-level action, gorgeous costume pieces, and magnificent sets for the adaptation. We are also confident that the adaptation will have great dialogues with Mazin on board.
We already have confirmation about several A-list actors who have already signed up for the movie. Cate Blanchett is cast as Lilith, the legendary thief and the film's central protagonist.
She is one of only six 'sirens' who possess spectral and cosmic powers.
'Borderlands' will reunite the actress and director Roth after previously collaborating on 'The House with a Clock in Its Walls'.
The director said in a statement: "We had the most incredible collaboration together on The House with a Clock in Its Walls, and I believe there's nothing she can't do. From drama to comedy and now action, Cate makes every scene sing.
"Working with her is truly a director's dream come true, and I feel so fortunate that I get to do it again on an even bigger scale."
Starring alongside Blanchett is the actor and comedian Kevin Hart. He will play the role of a super-soldier named Roland.
Jamie Lee Curtis will portray the archaeologist Tannis, who has a complex history with Lilith.
Marvel's Ariana Greenblatt stars as the teenaged bombs expert Tiny Tina.
Also confirmed to join the cast is Netflix's, Haley Bennett. We still don't know her exact role, but initial information reveals that her character will have a significant connection to Lilith.
Florian Munteanu stars as a bandit, Krieg, while Jack Black voices Claptrap, the energetic but sarcastic robot.
