'Blood Lad' Season 2 : Here's Everything We Know So Far

Analyzing the numbers, it wouldn't be strange to believe that 'Blood Lad' indeed performed extremely well and scored high overall; hence giving another reason for producers to consider making the second part.

Blood Lad, which is also known as Buraddo Raddo in Japanese, is one of those anime television series that has left fans waiting for the longest of time, in spite of being one of the best in its genre. The dark comedy fantasy anime television series is based on a manga series of the same name and is written and illustrated by Yuuki Kodama. The manga series was published for the first time on September 4, 2009, and the series had a total of 17 volumes, that went on till September 3, 2016. Soon the manga was picked up to be made into an anime television series, and season 1 of 'Blood Lad' aired for the first time on July 8, 2013. The show was a big success after season 1 and there was an original video animation (OVA) episode released on December 4, 2013, that left fans asking for season 2.

Fans are now waiting for season 2 of 'Blood Lad' and here is everything we know about whether or not there will be season 2 of this brilliant show.

Twitter

The first season released on July 8, 2013, and ran till September 9 of the same year. After season 1 got over, an OVA episode titled 'Blood Lad: Wagahai wa Neko de wa Nai' got released on December 3, 2013. Even though six years have passed, fans do not want to give up the hope for the second season, even after knowing that it takes a period of five years maximum for a show to get renewed, and it has already been six years ever since it came for the first time.

However, no matter how slim the chances of having a second season look, there are some aspects we need to consider to not fully give up the hope for its renewal. Starting with the first point, it is important to note that the original manga series contains seventeen volumes that have 85 chapters while the TV adaptation has used only ten episodes + OVA. Clearly, there is enough source material for the television adaptation, unfortunately, the manga ended in December 2016. Even then we can hope for Brain's Base to pick one more season of the series. The second possibility is how the first season performed in terms of numbers.

The anime television series scored 7.53/10 > 164,000 votes, whereas got the rating 7.3/10 ~ 900 votes on IMDb and have rated the anime 4.6 out of 5 stars based on ~ 5,500 votes. Analyzing the numbers, it wouldn't be strange to believe that 'Blood Lad' indeed performed extremely well and scored high overall, giving another reason for producers to consider making the second part.

What Is 'Blood Lad' All About?

Twitter

For those who haven't watched the first season, 'Blood Lad' is about the surreal world where demons live, and the story revolves around Staz Charlie Blood who is a Vampire. Staz is not the usual kind of vampire who drinks human blood like his ancestors and lives a life of a typical 'Otaku'. In Japanese, the term refers to someone who is obsessed with Anime, Manga and hi-tech gadgets. Staz is the leader and one of the bosses of the gangs, which are various demon gangs in this world. One day, by accident, a girl named Fuyumi Yanagi, who was a human, accidentally entered the demon world through a portal, making Staz all excited after knowing about the presence of a human being in their world.

They both meet for the very first time but not for very long. Staz was constantly protecting her from the enemies. However, it wasn't easy for a human to survive in a world of vampire and therefore, Fuyumi dies after getting eaten up by a carnivorous plant and becomes a Ghost. This was something that left Staz emotionally broken and therefore, he takes the responsibility to bring her back to life. It is after that Staz and Fuyumi come into the human world where she starts fading away and therefore, to save her Staz makes her drink his blood and she turns into a half-vampire. Staz continues to save her life and bring her back to life by struggling and fighting the demon in the demon world as she keeps fading away. In the end, finally, both of them end up fighting an evil creature who is known as Akim.
