'Blood Lad' Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

This is a live-update article and it will be updated as new details about Blood Lad Season 2 come our way. This is what we know so far.

Blood Lad

Blood Lad, which is also known as Buraddo Raddo in Japanese, is one of those anime television series that has left fans waiting for the longest of time, despite being one of the best in its genre. The dark comedy fantasy anime television series is based on a manga series of the same name and is written and illustrated by Yuuki Kodama. The manga series was published for the first time on September 4, 2009, and the series had a total of 17 volumes that went on till September 3, 2016. Soon the manga was picked up to be made into an anime television series, and season 1 of 'Blood Lad' aired for the first time on July 8, 2013. The show was a big success after season 1, and there was an original video animation (OVA) episode released on December 4, 2013, that left fans asking for season 2. Fans are now waiting for season 2 of 'Blood Lad,' and here is everything we know about whether or not there will be season 2 of this brilliant show.

Are There Any Possibilities For Season 2 Of 'Blood Lad' To Happen?

The first season of Blood Lad was released on July 8, 2013, and ran until September 9 of the same year. After season 1 ended, an OVA episode titled "Blood Lad: Wagahai wa Neko de wa Nai" was released on December 3, 2013. Even though eleven years have passed, fans still hope for a second season, despite the typical five-year renewal period for shows. However, the chances of a second season seem slim, but there are reasons to retain some hope for its renewal. Firstly, the original manga series contains seventeen volumes with 85 chapters, whereas the TV adaptation has only used ten episodes plus the OVA, so there is enough source material for the television adaptation. Unfortunately, the manga ended in December 2016. Nevertheless, we can still hope for Brain's Base to pick up another season of the series. The second possibility is how the first season performed in terms of numbers. The anime television series scored 7.2/10 from 360K votes on MyAnimeList and 7.2/10 from 2311 votes on IMDb. Analyzing the numbers, it wouldn't be strange to believe that "Blood Lad" performed exceptionally well and scored high overall, giving another reason for producers to consider making the second part.

What Is 'Blood Lad' All About?

Blood Lad is a series set in a surreal world where demons live. The story revolves around Staz Charlie Blood, a vampire who is not your typical blood-sucking vampire. Staz is more of an "Otaku," someone obsessed with anime, manga, and hi-tech gadgets. He is also the leader of one of the demon gangs in the world. Everything changes when a human girl named Fuyumi Yanagi accidentally enters the demon world.

Staz becomes excited about the presence of a human in their world and tries to protect Fuyumi from the dangers of the demon world. Unfortunately, Fuyumi dies after being eaten by a carnivorous plant and becomes a ghost. This deeply affects Staz, and he takes on the responsibility of bringing her back to life.

Staz and Fuyumi eventually end up in the human world, where Fuyumi begins to fade away. In a desperate attempt to save her, Staz turns her into a half-vampire by making her drink his blood. Staz continues to fight to save Fuyumi's life, even as she keeps fading away. The story culminates in a battle against an evil creature known as Akim.
