Black Widow has been shifted till later this year for release. Read about the release date, storyline, and the cast of Black Widow all here.
Even though Marvel’s Black Widow had been scheduled for release somewhere during this month, it has now been rescheduled to November 2020, owing to the Coronavirus crisis in the world. Such a sad realization it is to be thinking that all of us would have seen Black Widow by now if things had been alright.
However, this does not mean that we can’t catch up on the prequel that is likely to be one of the most adventurous chapters in the MCU and offer a graceful end to our beloved hero.
Here is everything regarding Black Widow that we know of, including its storyline, release date, cast, and much more. So, let’s jump right in!
Scarlett Johansson, while interviewed by Total Film, gave a sneak-peak into what fans can anticipate in the upcoming movie.
Johansson described the theme of the movie as family-oriented. Fans will learn the meaning of family, how it defines us, how our past defines us, how our family changes us through Natasha's eyes. Johansson further elaborated that Kevin Feige mulled over what fans were expecting out of Black Widow, and has made it into something more than their expectations. The Black Widow actress also said that she had to grasp the tonal shift in the movie because it was unlike before.
Even though Marvel has announced the original release date for Black Widow as May 1, that has now entirely changed due to cinemas and entertainment houses being shut down indefinitely due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The new release date is now November 6, 2020.
The new release date had been originally for The Eternals; however, that has been shifted to February 2021 now.
Moreover, we are expecting a social media blackout in the US before the Black Widow release date, as the movie will be released earlier in October in the UK.
Of course, Scarlett Johansson is reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff, as without her, there won’t be any Black Widow, isn’t that right?
Florence Pugh, the lead in Midsommar, will be joining Johansson in the movie, as Yelena. She will be one of the members of the training program of Black Widow. Pugh described Yelena as a sister to Black Widow; however, we will be seeing plenty of beef between them.
Rachel Weisz has been given an exciting role as another Black Widow in the movie. This is probably a spoiler, but we will see her as the Iron Maiden, who will unleash a lot of anger in Natasha.
We will also be seeing David Harbour from Stranger Things as Alexi, more commonly known in the comics as Red Guardian. Our main villain in the movie is Taskmaster, in control of the birthplace of Black Widows, the Red Room. Even though there isn't any news regarding the casting yet
And might we say that Tony Stark may also be making an appearance in Black Widow? We'll leave this here and wait impatiently for the release till we get to see Black Widow like the rest of you. Until then, cheers!
