The title of the sequel's book is called 'Malorie', which is the name of the main character played by Sandra Bullock in the film.

Here's some good news for all those who loved Netflix's 2018 release 'Bird Box', which became the talk of the town right after it released.

According to Screen Rant, the novel that the film was adapted from, with the same name, will now have a sequel. In an interview with Esquire, the author of the book Josh Malerman talked about what the new book would entail.

The title of the sequel's book is called 'Malorie', which is the name of the main character played by Sandra Bullock in the film. The book is scheduled to release on October 1. Looking at the title of the book, it can be said that the book will follow the story of Sandra Bullock's character, Malorie.

In the interview, Malerman said, "In the time between Bird Box coming out and the time since I’ve been writing Malorie, I’ve been asked a ton of times: people want to know what happened with Boy and Girl. But as much as I care about Boy and Girl, this isn’t their story. The Bird Box world is Malorie’s story, and I wanted to know more about her. I wanted to get to know her even better."

The story of 'Bird Box' in the novel is much different from the one on Netflix. The film's ending is much more hopeful than the one in the novel. This means that the sequel could be totally different. Even though there are no talks about a sequel but since all the successful films these days are extending their stories in the form of sequels, we can expect one from 'Bird Box' as well.

The film had to deal with a huge controversy with a footage that was part of the movie. Netflix had used the video of a real-life train crash footage that had happened in Canada. The accident had killed 47 people and the streaming giant faced a lot of backlash from the politicians of Canada.

They said that the fact Netflix used the footage was very insensitive as the train crash was real and caused real deaths. Using the footage in a fictional film was inappropriate.

The footage was also used in another Netflix show called the 'Travellers' but the production company removed the footage on their own and put up a message that said, " “to anyone who was offended, especially the victims and their families, " as they apologized to the ones offended. Netflix decided to remove the footage from the film and let it stream on their site.

Even though the film was surrounded by controversy, the book sequel is something that the fans are going to look forward to. It will be interesting to learn what happens next in Malorie's story, who is trying her best to survive a dangerous apocalyptic world. The film got a great response as it showed an emotional, spine-chilling tale of a woman who is trying her best to escape a dangerous situation along with two kids.

Malorie, played by Sandra Bullock has to be careful with what she is seeing as, in the film, the planet is under attack by certain monsters that show people their darkest fears when you look at them, causing them to commit suicide.

The official synopsis of the film reads, "When a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life.  Facing the unknown, Malorie finds love, hope, and a new beginning only for it to unravel."

"Now she must flee with her two children down a treacherous river to the one place left that may offer sanctuary. But to survive, they’ll have to undertake the perilous two-day journey blindfolded. Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock leads an all-star cast that includes Trevante Rhodes, with Sarah Paulson, and John Malkovich in BIRD BOX, a compelling new thriller from Academy Award® winner Susanne Bier.." it concludes.

In an interview with io9, Susanne Bier, the director of the film talks about the film and what message it tries to give to the audience. “It’s a profoundly interesting take on motherhood,” Bier told io9. “And it’s actually a take on motherhood which is way more written and conceived from a female perspective than motherhood has been for hundreds of years.”

Apart from Sandra, the film also stars Trevante Rhodes as Tom, Jacki Weaver as Cheryl, John Malkovich as Douglas, Sarah Paulson as Jessica, Rosa Salazar as Lucy, Danielle Macdonald as Olympia, Lil Rel Howery as Charlie, Tom Hollander as Gary, Machine Gun Kelly as Felix, BD Wong as Greg, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Rick and others.
