What Is The Plot Of 'Beckett'?

John David Washington stars as the titular character, Beckett, an American tourist vacationing in Greece with his girlfriend April (Alicia Vikander). What was supposed to be a relaxing holiday took a deadly turn after he stumbles upon a kidnapping. The incident made him a target of a manhunt.

Beckett gets forced to run for his life. His only hope is to get to the American embassy to clear his name. However, tensions arise when he gets pursued by the authorities. He eventually gets caught up in a dangerous web of conspiracy as political unrest mounts in the area.

"A manhunt thriller is a road-trip movie, in a way," Cito Filomarino told EW about the movie. "It was interesting to embrace the variety of Greece's topography, like, what can we throw at Beckett next? Mountains, rivers, buses, trains..."

Expect a lot of running as Beckett is forced to travel on foot from the rural wilderness to the U.S. embassy in Athens. Beckett is no superhero, and his struggles will be very relatable for the common man, making the premise even more interesting.

"He doesn't have all the answers," Washington adds of his beleaguered protagonist. "He doesn't have an ex-Marine background; he doesn't have all these abnormal sensibilities and strengths that exceed the normal man."

Who Is Cast In 'Beckett'?

John David Washington stars as Beckett, the American tourist who will have an unforgettable and harrowing vacation in Greece.

Alicia Vikander stars as April, Beckett's girlfriend who will travel with him to Greece.

Rounding up the list, we have Boyd Holbrook as Tynan, along with Vicky Krieps as Lena.
