'Beastars' Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

Legoshi's life is about to drastically change after coming face to face with Tem's killer in season 2. Will the anime return for season 3?

'Beastars' season 2 has finished airing in Japan and hit Netflix in July 2021, but those who already saw the harrowing ending of season 2 are now wondering if season 3 will happen.

The second season of the anime has brought astounding revelations and we can't wait to see what happens next for Legoshi after an epic battle with Tem's killer.

'Beastars' is based on a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki. The anime takes place in a world where anthropomorphic animals have a cultural divide between carnivores and herbivores. The peace and harmony between the two groups were disrupted after Tem the alpaca is brutally murdered and devoured by an unknown killer in the night.

The second season finally revealed Tem's killer, and Legoshi engages in a deadly duel with him. However, he'll have to suffer the repercussions of his heroic actions in the next chapter of the story.

Will 'Beastars' return for season 3? Here's what we know.

What Is The Plot Of 'Beastars' Season 3?

Warning: Season 2 major spoilers below.

We can predict the plot of the third season based on where season 2 ended, then compare it with the manga's story arc.

Tem's killer finally gets revealed in season 2. Riz, the bear, was the secret murderer who devoured the alpaca in the night. Legoshi came face to face with Riz in a brutal battle, which ends up in Louis sacrificing his leg so Legoshi could eat meat for the first time. This provided Legoshi with extra strength and allowed him to defeat Riz.

That confrontation will serve as a pivotal moment for Legoshi's life in the upcoming seasons.

The battle ends up with both Legoshi and Riz getting arrested by the police. Although Legoshi will not receive a misdemeanor criminal record, he gets branded as a predatorial offender for consuming Louis's flesh. Eating the flesh of another living animal is an extremely prohibited act in the civilized, anthropomorphic world.

Because of his bad record, Legoshi will have a hard time getting back into his normal life. He is no longer allowed to go to unsegregated universities, and no herbivore-owned companies will want to hire him. The worst of it all, he will no longer be allowed to marry a herbivore and will be forced to leave Haru without explanation.

The third season will see Legoshi trying to navigate into his new life following the incident.
