Fans were really disappointed with the announcement that the DCEU movie, Batgirl, was canceled and so were the cast members. Even though the shoot was complete, unfortunately, it was shelved. While we might not be able to see the final outcome on the big screen, Batgirl star Ivory Aquino took to Twitter to share an action clip from behind-the-scenes footage of the movie that will never come to life.

Aquino, who portrayed Alysia Yeoh (Batgirl's best friend), shared an action video from the sets of Batgirl. Tagging her co-star Leslie Grace, who played the titular superhero, and one of Grace’s stunt doubles, Emely Cartagena, Aquino’s clip saw one of the women (presumably Cartagena) decked out in the Batgirl costume, reported Collider. Soaring through the air with a backflip, the hero can be seen crashing a holiday party by way of a brightly-lit Christmas tree. First displayed with the full pulley system and cameras in place, the video follows up with a post-production view that audiences would have seen in the final movie.

"Just.. WOWWW @EmelyTKD @lesliegrace you make a great tandem fo sure #batgirl #sistershavingeachothersbacks #sistershavingeachothersbackflips," Aquino tweeted along with the video.

Batgirl was a promising film to be added to the category of female superhero films. Naturally, its cancelation was met with disappointment. Following Batgirl's cancelation, Aquino has openly expressed her disappointment in Warner Bros. Discovery's decision, championing the movie's diversity and representation. She posted a public letter, pleading to reconsider the decision while also talking about her "grief" over the news. “I’ve tried my best to be strong these past few weeks, I’d find myself crying, for lack of a better term, from grief, and tonight was one of those nights,” Aquino wrote in the letter, as per Collider

This is not the first time the actress has shared behind-the-scenes footage. She once took to Instagram to share several behind-the-scenes photos of her work on Batgirl, including various costumes worn by Alysia in the film, new looks at Barbara Gordon (Leslie Grace), James Gordon (JK Simmons), and various other photos of the cast and crew.

"Thank you for the outpouring of love #batgirl fam🥰 our time in Glasgow was filled with lotsa laughter, joy, love, passion & dedication from the amazing crew & close-knit cast. Batgirl was truly a labor of love we were excited & eager to share with you all who’ve championed this inspiring character & our fam of nontraditional underrepresented peeps having the opportunity to share with the world that ANYONE & EVERYONE can be a superhero," she wrote in the caption.

"A female-written female-produced film starring an Afro-Latina (angel!) & directed by Muslim Moroccan-Belgian wunderkinds (with a female assistant director) about a female character (as imagined by a female comic book writer) who forges her own path to uplift the lives of those around her including her trans best friend, deserves to be seen & will find a way. There is no price tag on that. In the meantime, sharing some of these with you. Leafing through them has reminded me of the magical experience we had, all in the shared desire of creating something for you all to enjoy. These memories brought a smile to my face & hopefully will to yours as well☺️," she continued in the caption.

Although Batgirl will not be shown in its final form, we can only hope that Aquino and her cast mates will continue to give behind-the-scenes glimpses of what might have made for an outstanding feature.
