Bad Boys 4 Is Officially In The Works

Bad Boys producer Jerry Bruckheimer has revealed during an interview with Collider that Bad Boys 4 is officially in the works

Bad Boys

The Bad Boys movie franchise is far from dead and with the third film still fresh in our minds, the fourth is reportedly already on the way.

This news is according to the producer Jerry Bruckheimer who revealed in an interview with Steve Weintraub of Collider that Bad Boys 4 is in the works. In the interview he said:

We had a great experience on the first one, both through the development process with Tom Rothman [chair of Sony] and his team, and then through the editing process and filming process...We put together, along with their help, a movie that's very satisfying for the audience, and we'd like to do it again, and I think they'd like us to do it again. We're currently working on a draft for the fourth one.

Back in January, the rumor mill was stirred with news of the fourth film. It was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Chris Bremner, who worked on Bad Boys For Life, was slated to return to write the script for the fourth film.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are both expected to reprise their roles as Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. It's not likely that the film would progress without the main duo.

We can probably also expect newcomers Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and Charles Melton to return.

The newcomers!

This news comes as no surprise as the third installment of the franchise went on to make big bucks in the box office. Bad Boys For Life made a whopping $419.1 million in its box office run with an opening weekend of $62 million.

Bad Boys II made $273.3 million in its box office run while the first film made $141.4 million. It's clear to see that each film in the franchise is bigger, better, and a whole lot more profitable for the studios involved.

Are you excited to see Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return for the fourth time?
