Avengers: Endgame Officially Passes Avatar At All-Time US Box Office

It's official! Endgame has surpassed Avatar in the US box office with a massive $780 million haul. Holy molly!!!

Avengers: Endgame has officially passed Avatar in the US to become the second highest grossing film at the domestic box office with a haul of $780 million. At the moment, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is still at the top of the US all-time box office listing with $936.6 million. We reckon that Endgame may surpass Star Wars in about a week or two but there is also a possibility that the ticket sales may die out and it may just stop short.

Endgame has been able to surpass Avatar in the US box office but it's still got a lot of work to do to dethrone Avatar in the worldwide box office. At the moment, Endgame has a total gross of $2.6 billion while Avatar sits cozily at the top with a cool $2.78 billion. So Endgame is just short of being named the highest grossing of all time. But given that it still has a few weeks again at the box office we can expect that Endgame will be a very strong contender for the number one spot in the US and worldwide.

Avengers: Endgame

Even if Endgame manages just to stop short of first place it still holds the record of the fastest film to hit $1 billion globally, making it in just its opening weekend. After the record, Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said:

Kevin Feige and the Marvel Studios team have continued to challenge notions of what is possible at the movie theatre both in terms of storytelling and at the box office. Though Endgame is far from an end for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, these first 22 films constitute a sprawling achievement, and this weekend’s monumental success is a testament to the world they’ve envisioned, the talent involved, and their collective passion, matched by the irrepressible enthusiasm of fans around the world.

I am actually backing Endgame to sit on the Iron Throne as I just loved him so much in the series. Wait, I think I'm thinking about something else now. Yeah, this article is over. Time to talk about Game Of Thrones.
