Avengers: Endgame is on the road to pass James Cameron's Avatar and become the highest-grossing film ever.
The 22nd Marvel film and the summation of the Infinity SAGA is soaring towards breaking one of the biggest records possible. I mean this makes sense since this decade-long narrative was a serious investment on the part of Marvel for the fans emotionally and otherwise and now they are reaping the rewards. The fans got to experience a three hour long, emotionally charged, spectacle of what is possible on the silver screen and well Marvel? They are making BANK!
Avengers: Endgame already Hulk-smashed the box office by having a one billion dollar opening so you might wonder what more do they have to do to take home the title of the highest-grossing film of all time? Well, the movie will have to earn another 1 billion dollars at the box office in the coming weeks. But don’t fret, Bloomberg’s industry forecaster Wade Holde who also works for Kagan, S&P Global Market Intelligence has predicted that Avengers: Endgame will be able to steal the title from Avatar.
Even though we have been moving towards this point ever since the very first Iron Man movie and watched on as the Avengers built a team over 21 films, what really built excitement for the Endgame was when Avengers: Infinity war left us completely heartbroken in April 2018. Adding that to the trailers, interviews and rumours about Endgame and the general “diehardness” of the Marvel Fandom allowed the Endgame to rake in 1.2 billion dollars in just five days making it the fastest movie to ever shatter the billion-dollar mark despite the lengthy 3 hours 58 second screen runtime which lessens the amount of viewings cinemas can have per day.
So who’s ready for their Second Screening?
