There have been better reviews for the second season from fans of the show which is important for a renewal to be possible.
Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest is a Japanese anime based on a light novel series written by Ryo Shirakome and illustrated by Takayaki. The story follows Hajime Nagumo, a high schooler who is transported to another world with the rest of his class to fight in a war against the demon race. But he is betrayed and left to die by one of his classmates. Hajime begins a journey to improve himself and find a way to return home.
On September 10th, 2022, Arifureta Season 3 was confirmed to be in production. The announcement was made during The Arifureta OVA Advance Screening & Talk Show held at Shinjuku Piccadilly Cinema in Tokyo.
In the second season, Hajime has managed to make his rise from rock bottom. It was in the labyrinth that he strengthens his weak magic and also finds several beautiful allies. After saving his classmates, he ventures to Erisen to escort Myuu and her mother. Hajime now has to fight and defeat anyone he has to in order to find a way home—including a god.
The story will become more of a harem adventure as time passes. Hajime is now involved with Yue, the vampire princess. His classmate Kaori also declares her love for him. Hajime’s feelings for Shea are also explored and he even promises to introduce dragon girl Tio Klarus, and his other girlfriends to his parents once they are out of the magical world. They then enter another labyrinth that forces Hajime to work more on his feelings due to the nature of the labyrinth. The next season will probably explore if Hajime can make it out of the labyrinth successfully or not. And what the cost of doing it would be.
We will obviously be seeing Hajime Nagumo coming back along with Yue, Shea Haulia, Tio Klarus, Kaori Shirasaki, and Shizuku Yaegashi back as well. Addiitonally, Myu, Freid Bagwa, Mikhail, Liliana, Bize, and Hiyama, among others may also be a part of the next season.
The first season of the anime took a lot of time to finally be made and released. The second season also took quite a while to release. The time for another season may also take just as long since the anime has faced a lot of problems in terms of production studios. Since the anime has been officially greenlit we can expect the new season to arrive sometime in late 2023 or early 2024.
