The official Introduction to 'He Who Remains', sounds intimidating, but is he really?
Well after saving the world in Avengers: Endgame Ant-Man is back! Many say that Ant-Man didn't have much importance in MCU and it's only now that Ant-Man is seemingly taking center stage. Both movies were treated more like fillers after big films and never appealed to a broader audience. However, that is ought to change with the new movie which is also serving as the introductory movie for Phase 5 of the MCU. The movie also introduced us to a new ultra-powerful villain, Kang The Conqueror. It appears as if Ant-Man will finally get to fight a Thanos-level antagonist, however, let's find out if Ant-Man really got his due in this movie...the article is more or less spoiler-free with light spoilers here and there as we realize that the movie is yet to be released and only a number of people have had the opportunity to watch it...
We see the mastermind thief turned Avenger really living his best life in San Francisco, where he is locally celebrated as an avenger and gets high-fives and selfie requests often. He is busy with book signing sessions for his new autobiography. He is now gotten a way back to his daughter, who is now a teen, and he is also dating Hope Van Dyene, well, of course! Things take a turn when his daughter Cassie's new invention sucks them into the Quantum Realm. and then the movie really begins.
The flow of Complaints regarding the CGI is pretty strong, and it came as a surprise to many people considering it was MCU. Many thought that the Quantum Realm was a great way to use imagination and came with endless possibilities. However, the director failed to showcase the magic this tiny verse could have been.
The response to the new big baddie Kang was also pretty underwhelming. Marvel fans might not see it as a big problem as Ant-Man was never a franchise they expected a lot from. Having said that, the movie does have some great elements and acts as a good appetizer before all the big films roll in this year. We just hope that this is just a poor way of establishing phase 5 and not a shaky foundation.
You Can Watch Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania in Theaters on February 17.
