Ant-Man 3: Release Date, Plot, Cast And More

It's official. Ant-Man will be returning for a third movie and here's everything we know about it so far

Ant-Man may not be the highest-grossing franchise in the MCU but Paul Rudd's awkward hilarity is definitely not something Marvel is willing to give up too easily. On November 1st it was confirmed that Ant-Man will in fact be returning for a third movie with Peyton Reed returning as director. Below is everything we know so far about Ant-Man 3.

When Is The Release Date Of Ant-Man 3?

An official release date has yet to be announced but Michael Douglas has revealed that filming will begin in January 2021. So this could mean that it can easily make it into the 2022 lineup of Marvel films which at the moment already includes Black Panther 2 on May 6. The other available dates for 2022 are February 18 and July 29. So the release date for Ant-Man 3 will most likely be July 29th, 2022.

What Is The Plot Of Ant-Man 3?

The plot is unknown but it will definitely be post-Endgame which will see Scott Lang’s daughter, Cassie as a teenager and possibly old enough to assist her dad in some crime-fighting. The Young Avengers may also be introduced in Ant-Man 3. Another possibility is the introduction of Elihas Starr or Egghead. Elihas Starr is Ghost's father who was said to be killed off in a Quantum experiment. But he is possibly still alive and we may see him in the third film. At the moment, this is all speculation.

Who Will Be In The Cast Of Ant-Man 3?

Paul Rudd will definitely be returning as Ant-Man in the third film. It has also been confirmed that Michael Douglas will return as Hank Pym. So because of that, we can expect Michelle Pfeiffer to return as Janet van Dyne. We can also expect to see Evangeline Lilly's character "The Wasp" return to assist Ant-Man.

Some other folks expected to reprise their roles are Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Scott's ex-wife Maggie and Bobby Cannavale as Maggie's new husband Jim Paxton.

However, it is very unlikely that Abby Ryder Fortson will be returning as Cassie. Emma Fuhrmann will most likely take over the role of teenage Cassie. There's also a possibility that Fuhrmann will be a part of the Young Avengers.

Emma Fuhrmann

In an interview with ComicBook.com Fuhrmann said: "They're [Marvel] very secretive, but from my research, I know that in the comics Cassie becomes Stature and Stinger in Young Avengers and that would be very cool."
