Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader have been in a secret relationship for nearly a year. A source told PEOPLE about the budding relationship and how it all started.

"They met years ago. She's hosted Saturday Night Live and they've done a movie together, but they got together well after the movie," the anonymous source stated. "They are both very private people, and with the pandemic, it was easy to keep it quiet," they added. "They're both hysterical so they must keep each other laughing all of the time. She's really, really happy." The actors declined to comment about the same.

Kendrick, 36, and Hader, 43, were in the Disney+ Christmas film, Noelle. In this 2019 film, they played siblings, Noelle Kringle and Nick Kringle, the children of Kris Kringle aka Santa Claus. Talking about working together in the film, the Pitch Perfect actress explained how it is with two funny people on set. "Breaking is a big problem for me," she told Collider. "But, luckily, Bill describes himself as a soft touch, so if I break, he breaks. So I can be like, 'He started it!'" Speaking about his co-star to his kids, the SNL alum recalled telling them the premise of Noelle and about the woman who becomes Santa. "They were excited, and I was like, 'And it’s the girl from Pitch Perfect.' And they went, 'Ah!!' So my kids could be executives at Disney, basically," he said.

Kendrick has supposedly already befriended Hader's kids, three daughters: Hannah Kathryn, 12, Harper, 9, and Hayley Clementine, 7, whom he shared with Maggie Carey. They were married from 2006 to 2018. Hader had then dated Rachel Bilson, with whom he had starred together in the 2013 romantic comedy The To-Do List, which was directed by his then-wife. Bilson and Hader broke up six months after making their relationship public at the Golden Globes in 2020.

As for Kendrick, she had previously dated Ben Richardson, an English cinematographer. They met on the set of Drinking Buddies in 2013 and began dating in 2014, breaking up at an unspecified time. Kendrick had previously said that she doesn't believe in soul mates "in any traditional sense" and stated, "Like, that word is kind of synonymous with 'the one.' There's many 'the ones' and if we're lucky we spend a long time with someone." In 2020, she spoke about her dating history while discussing her HBO Max series Love Life stating that she is "just so happy that I'm clearer now about what I will accept from people in my life."
