An American Horror Story spin-off has just been confirmed for 2021 and we are beyond excited!
American Horror Story seems to be very far from the end as a new spin-off series is now in the works. It was announced about 2 weeks ago by creator Ryan Murphy that he had plans for a new series called “American Horror Stories". Now, according to Variety, FX has officially greenlit the project and added it to the 2021 slate.
The series is set to be a weekly anthology series with a different horror story each episode. FX entertainment president Eric Schrier shared his excitement for the upcoming 2021 slate. He said:
"We couldn't be more excited about our roster of new and returning shows slated through next year.
"It has been an extraordinary time for FX over these past three months with the launch of FX on Hulu, which has transformed our business. We believe the continued strength of our original series coupled with the growing awareness of FX on Hulu as our streaming platform will make the FX brand stronger and more relevant and accessible than ever before."
Ryan Murphy discussed the project over a zoom call and based on a screenshot shared on his Instagram it included many familiar faces. This could mean that a few members of the AHS cast may be in the spin-off series as well.
Murphy wrote in the post:
"American Horror Story cast Zoom call... where we reminisced about the good times...the spin-off we're doing called American Horror Stories (one-hour contained episodes)... when we will start filming the next season of the mothership... and other stuff I cannot print. It was so much fun and I'm glad we caught up. I miss everyone!"
Other new series that made the 2021 slate, according to Variety, are A Teacher, The Old Man, Y: The Last Man, an untitled BK Novak project, Hip Hop Untold, Hysterical, Pride and A Wilderness of Error.
