‘Akame ga kill’ Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

‘Akame ga kill’ or ‘Akame ga Kiru’ is a Japanese manga series authored by Takahiro and illustrated by Tetsuya Tashiro. The manga first began its serialization from March 2010 to December 2016. The show is a pretty gore one and doesn’t shy away from showing scenes of graphic nature. The show is said to be so gory that when the show first premiered in Japan, the television screens blacked out some scenes due to its graphic nature. The show has it all. From the human body being cut to pieces to blood being spilled everywhere, it looks like anyone can be killed at any given point during the show. If you have seen the first season, it seems like nothing is out of bounds, and any character can be killed at any point, no matter how important the character might be. Apart from that, the death of certain characters can be so uncomfortable at times that it seems like the only thing that can be predicted is that nothing can be predicted at all. Now, with that thought in mind, here is everything that you need to know about the second season of ‘Akame ga kill.’

The anime’s story follows around a group of assassins who call themselves ‘Night Raid,’ and they are also a part of a revolutionary army. They have only one purpose, and that is to overthrow the Governance of Prime Minister Honest. As the show has portrayed, the Prime Minister is nothing but a greedy and corrupt leader who has only looked after himself, and because of that, the entire nation is in a state of impoverishment. The Night Raid members are not mindless murderers, and they know very well what are the consequences of their actions. The story sets in motion when a new member called Tatsumi joins the members of ‘Night Raid’ and helps them perpetuate their vision. If the show is renewed for a second season, it will leave behind the first season’s storyline and begin a completely new story.

Like many anime shows, ‘Akame ga kill’ also has many characters, but here we will discuss the most important characters in the show. Scroll down to know more.

Akame– In the beginning, Akame seems like a killer who has no sympathy for others, and she kills mercilessly. But as the show progresses, the audience realizes that she is very soft-hearted. She is one of the very first members of the ‘Night Raid’ team. Somewhere in the show, she attacks Tatsumi and almost manages to kill him, but it fails since Tatsumi somehow manages to get away. Akame is considered one of the best assassins of the ‘Night Raid,’ and she has gone through some horrifying training to become one.

Leone– Described as having a very happy-go-lucky personality, Leone is one of the Night Raid team’s elder members, and she often does a lot of crazy things in the show that mainly serves as comic relief. She is also described as one of the most mature characters in the show and is known to keep her cool even in tough situations. But, don’t be mistaken, she also has a very vicious side, which only comes out when she sees any kind of injustice happening.

Mine– She joined the Night Raid team when the assassins were performing alliances with the west. Since she has faced a lot of discrimination as a child, she someday wants to bring an end to this, which is her entire motive. Known to have a quick temper, she is cold on the outside, but once people get to know her, she is a warm-hearted person who won’t even hesitate to give her life for the ones she loves.
