Music sensation Adele was due to perform two concerts at the 4,300-seat Colosseum theatre for her Las Vegas residency each weekend from 21 January to 16 April. The extravaganza would have included other big names in the music biz including Celine Dion, Elton John, Madonna, Mariah Carey, and Rod Stewart. Unfortunately, the 33-year-old announced that the tour had to be postponed. According to LADBible, fans who spent nearly £26,000 were furious as Adele confessed in an emotional video that things weren’t quite ‘ready’ despite everyone’s best efforts.

"Hi, listen I'm so sorry but my show ain't ready. We tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we've been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID. Half my crew, half my team are down with COVID—they still are," the Easy On Me singer began. "It's been impossible to finish the show—and I can't give you what I have right now. I'm tired. I'm tired. I'm sorry it's so last minute, we've been awake for over 30 hours now trying to figure it out, and we've run out of time. I'm so upset, and I'm really embarrassed and so sorry to everyone that's traveled again. I'm really, really sorry, I'm really sorry." She continued, "We're on it, we're gonna reschedule all of the dates, we're on it right now, and I'm gonna finish my show and I'm gonna get it to where it's supposed to be. I'm so sorry it's been impossible, we've been up against so much, and it just ain't ready. I'm really sorry."

Some fans said they had booked time off or spent money on travel and seemed upset or angry. One tweeted: “When it’s your bday and your bday present was Adele tickets to her opening night and she cancels not even 24 hours before. […] We are on an airplane right now headed to see her. Non refundable deposits. Vacation time spent. Babysitting secured. Unless her whole crew got COVID literally today this is unconscionable. We have up to 500 dollars in COVID tests we prepaid. Also for everyone saying ‘it’s COVID! This happens!;' We are all out here working during COVID. I totally knew this could be canceled, but there is no way it should have been canceled this close to the show. Anything catastrophic enough to cancel would be apparent by Monday.” Another added, “Why announce it so last minute?” However, Adele decided to do something about it. She apologized to some fans personally through FaceTime!

According to Variety, the singer told fans during the video calls that she would give them free merchandise and offered meet-and-greets when her residency eventually returned. One fan, Instagram user, @Adriansm99, was seen “forgiving” Adele for putting the shows off because of all the “healing” that her 30 album had helped him do in recent months. “I really don’t mind coming back from Mexico,” he told her via his Insta story. Adele later tweeted: I have the best fans in the world! Your graciousness and love tonight is overwhelming! Thank you
