The 30-year-old Game of Thrones star set up an intimate affair inviting everyone he grew up with and who knew him personally.
Jack Gleeson, the actor who played King Joffrey Baratheon on Game of Thrones recently got hitched to the actor-comedian Róisín O’Mahony on Saturday, August 27, 2022, according to HuffPost. The parish, Father Patsy Lynch who married the couple wrote, “Very simple, prayerful and dignified marriage ceremony for Film Celebrity Jason [Jack] Gleeson and Róisín.” The couple got married at Sacred Heart Church in The Glen in County Kerry, Ireland.

While this was, by all means, an intimate wedding celebration, the father mentioned a secondary stop on the couples’ plans, Irish Independent reported. “It’s a pre-wedding ceremony, the real ceremony will take place over in England, but the family have been holidaying down here in Ballinskelligs, The Glen, for many years and they have so many happy memories here,” Father Lynch noted.
"We had a lovely, prayerful, dignified wedding ceremony. Jack texted me this morning to say that it was such a wonderful, moving ceremony and afterwards (sic) they went for a meal.” Moreover, since the ceremony was so intimate, it made people feel the realness. “I think it was the sheer simplicity that just touched everyone, and everyone was happy and content,” he explained. “Everyone down here knows Jack and that shows they’re just part of the whole community. When I met him, it was as if we knew each other all our lives, he’s that kind of person. There’s nothing artificial.”
The nuptials were confirmed this week by the couple's parish priest, who described Gleeson as "a very down to earth, simple and relaxed person." https://t.co/TCAYPPZ7yU— HuffPost (@HuffPost) September 2, 2022
Starting off as a child actor, the GOT villain appeared on the show for three years before being killed off in a scene from his own wedding reception. He was fatally poisoned, a move that ended his tenure on the show in 2014. After which, he took a hiatus from acting. “I just stopped enjoying it as much as I used to,” he told Entertainment Weekly at the time. “When you make a living from something, it changes your relationship with it. It’s not like I hate it, it’s just not what I want to do.”
However, Gleeson made a comeback in 2020 with the BBC miniseries Out of Her Mind and is currently slated to appear in the Netflix film In the Land of Saints and Sinners, alongside Liam Neeson and Ciarán Hinds, PEOPLE reported. O’Mahony has also built an impressive career with projects like Mild Thing (2017), Jekyll and Hyde (2015), and Not a Hero (2015). She was recently performing the comedy show Róisín and Chiara: Sex on Wheels, with comedy partner Chiara Goldsmith at the Edinburgh International Festival.
