A Walking Dead Star Is Being Eyed By Marvel To Play Norman Osborn

Norman Osborn, also known as, The Green Goblin in the Spider-Man universe has rumors swirling around the actor that is going to play this iconic villain.

Well, it seems that every one that is even remotely close to the rumor mill knows that 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' will be giving us our first look at Oscorp in Phase 4 of the MCU. Most fans have been curious about the faith of the Avengers Tower formerly Stark Tower after it was sold by Tony Stark in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now we got the answer since the release of the following TV spot revealed that is was purchased by someone else.

We suspect that Avengers Tower is now Oscorp, and where there is Oscorp, Norman Osborn who you might know as 'The Green Goblin' lurks close behind. He is not going to appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home but talks about Norman Osborn casting calls means that he is not very far away.

According to the Reddit user TheMarvelScoopMaster, who has been sharing a lot of leaks lately, The Walking Dead's Governor, played by David Morrisey is currently Marvel's top pick for the character of 'The Green Goblin'.

David Morrisey as The Governor

The leaker had this to say when asked who they believed would take up the mantle and portray such an iconic villain:

David Morrisey is the most likely from what I’m aware of.

Another source, in the form of insider Roger Wardell, who has an outstanding leak record seems to confirm this news when they shared the statement that Marvel was keen to cast Morrisey and was looking at him for a number of movies. Most people initially thought that Marvel was having trouble placing him into a specific role and was having problems placing him to a character. But given the recent leaks, the statement most likely means that he has been given a character that appears in multiple movies.

TheMarvelScoopMaster has also revealed that MCU Phase 4 will be facing 2 major supervillains instead of one like in phase 3. So instead of one baddie like Thanos, there will be one cosmic threat in the form of Michael Korvac and one local threat in the form of Osborn. This will be a familiar arc for comic book fans and is known as the Dark Reign comic book arc.

Now the first actor that comes to mind when casting Norman Osborn/Green Goblin is definitely not David Morrisey and you definitely won't find him on any fan's Norman Osborn fan-cast list. But for fans of The Walking Dead who have experienced the full range of Morrisey's acting ability, we couldn't be happier to see him take up another villainous role. Hopefully, this rumor turns out to be true and look out for Spider-Man: Far From Home in theatres on the 2nd of July.
