The six-year-old tweet has left Twitter stunned.
The Will-Smith-assaulting-Chris-Rock incident has taken the world by storm but one Twitter user did warn us about it...six years ago! Rock is a comedy legend who earned prominence as a cast member of Saturday Night Live in the early 90s. The 57-year-old has also previously emceed the Academy Awards in 2016. Twitter user @_ja_s_on_ had a unique reaction to the slap, sharing a tweet he wrote that year: Will Smith has to punch Chris Rock in the face .... He has no choice. While the 2022 incident seemed so unpredictable, how did Twitter user @_ja_s_on_ know what would happen?
The Internet user seemed to be referring to a joke Rock made while hosting the Oscars in 2016. Jada did not attend as a protest in line with #OscarsSoWhite. He had said, “Jada says she’s not coming. Protesting. I’m like, ‘Ain’t she on a TV show?’ Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited! Oh, that’s not an invitation I would turn down!” At the time, Pinkett Smith publicly laughed it off, according to Screen Rant, although it doesn't seem like it was forgotten.
The tweet seemed to impress a lot of people online. Take a look at the reactions below!
