Sources claim that a new 'The Witcher' live-action film starring Henry Cavill is happening.

A new 'The Witcher' movie starring Henry Cavill is reportedly in the works.

'The Witcher' season 2 has not arrived on Netflix yet, and the Netflix series will not be the only upcoming project for Cavil as Geralt of Rivia.

Giant Freakin Robot's "Trusted Sources" revealed that a new 'The Witcher' movie is on the way, and the website is keen on Henry Cavill's return for the flick.

The details of the new Witcher movie are still unknown, and Netflix has not officially confirmed the project yet.

However, during the Tudum event, the streamer did confirm that 'The Witcher' season 3 is officially happening. They also announced another Witcher anime movie and a new family-orientated series, but no live-action movie starring Henry Cavill.

Although not yet confirmed, based on the show's popularity on the platform, coming up with a live-action movie is not a farfetched idea to expand the franchise.

'The Witcher' is based on a book series of the same name written by Andrzej Sapkowski.

The first season of 'The Witcher' live-action adaptation premiered on Netflix on December 20, 2019. It was a massive success and quickly became one of the Most Popular TV Shows of 2019.

In August 2021, Netflix released a Witcher spin-off anime film titled 'The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.' The spin-off serves as an origin story for Geralt's mentor and fellow witcher Vesemir. A young Geralt also appeared in a cameo role on the anime.

The anime was well received, with a 7.3/10 rating on IMDB. The positive reception indicates that Witcher fans would be willing to see more of the Witcher universe.

'The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf' was a brilliant idea since the original live-action will see Geralt reunited with an older Vesimer in the upcoming season.

The anime film was set decades before the live-action and explored the dark history of Kaer Morhen, including the fire that razed most of the fortress down.

'The Witcher' Season 2 is coming to Netflix on December 17, 2021. It will see Geralt returning to Kaer Morhen to keep Ciri safe. There, Ciri is expected to undergo intense training to become an honorary Witcher.

The new season will also explore how Geralt and his adopted daughter Ciri's destinies are connected. Of course, there will be more monsters to slay and more moral concepts to ponder as we continue to weigh things based on the lesser evil.

Based on how the spin-off and anime got connected, it is very likely that the new Witcher movie will also tie closely to the story of the entire franchise instead of being a stand-alone one.

We will continue to wait for Netflix's official confirmation on 'The Witcher' film and make sure to update you immediately. Make sure to follow us so you won't miss out on the latest news.
