‘Biohackers’ Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

The German techno-thriller has gotten a lot of eyes in the first and second seasons. Fans are expecting a third season of Biohackers to happen soon. It became popular enough to get a second-season approval a week after the show was released. The showrunner and director of Biohackers is Christian Ditter, who is teamed up with talented writers like Tanja Bubbel, Nikolaus Schulz-Dornburg, and Johanna Thalmann, whose work has made this show popular. It incorporates elements of drama, thriller, and science fiction to create the perfect binge-able show. It is acclaimed enough for the journal Science to publish a review revering the show for its authenticity about laboratory scenes.

Biohackers follows a university student, Mia, who has joined one of the best medical institutions in Germany. She meets her roommates, who are all in the field of using biomechanics. However, as she meets this guy who works at the lab with the esteemed Professor Loren, she too is enticed to join her team. As she joins the team and gains the respect of her professor, she uncovers something incriminating; she vows to avenge her brother in the process. As Mia breaks the pencil in half, she says, “I’m going to ruin her.”

Will There Be A Season 3 Of Biohackers?

Renewal Status: Likely Ghost Canceled

While there hasn’t been any official announcement from Netflix regarding a third season, the show was most likely ghost-canceled. So I wouldn’t get my hopes up for a third season. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

What Could The Plot Of Biohackers Season 3 Have Been?

Spoiler Alert! The second season ended with Professor Lorenz shot and killed, with Mia driving off in a rental van. The third season could have featured Mia dodging problems caused by the death of Lorenz and her difficulties with the brain degenerative Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease that is causing her to rapidly lose her memory. Additionally, another main character Andreas Winter also dies, leaving Netflix and the showrunners with much wiggle room to tie up the loose ends in the third season.

Who Could Have Been In Biohackers Season 3?

It was expected for the main cast like Luna Wedler as Emma “Mia Akerlund” Engels, Thomas Prenn as Niklas, Adrian Julius Tillmann as Jasper, Jing Xiang as Chen-Lu, Caro Cult as Lotta and Sebastian Jakob Doppelbauer as Ole to be there. However, it was highly probable for the show to feature a flashback scene with Jessica Schwarz, who plays Tanja Lorenz. Recurring cast members like Edith Saldanha as Monique, Zeynep Bozbay as Petra Eller, Benno Fürmann as Andreas Winter, and Thomas Kretschmann as Baron von Fürstenberg (who made an appearance in the second season of the show) may have also been expected to contribute to the storylines in the next season. Unfortunately, the show has been likely ghost canceled.

Biohackers Seasons one and two are currently streaming on Netflix.
