There are three kinds of entertainment lovers- the first ones are movie lovers, the second ones are TV show lovers, and the third ones are anime lovers. It is hard to say which category holds the most fans, but it wouldn’t be wrong if we say each one has its own essence and capabilities to keep their viewers engaged. Kill la Kill, also known as Kiru ra Kiru in Japanese, is an anime series which is produced by Tigger, written by Kazuki Nakashima, and directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi. Fans have loved every episode of the first season that premiered on October 4, 2013. On the same date, a show-based manga series written by Nakashima and illustrated by Ryō Akizuki was released. Ever since the manga series and the show premiered in Japan, fans have gone crazy over it, and a year later, two special episodes under the Kill la Kill Specials were released. Since then, fans have not heard any update about season 2. So, here is everything we know about the extraordinary anime series renewal.
Will There Be Kill la Kill Season 2?
Renewal Status: Most Likely Ended
The first season consisted of 24 episodes that premiered on October 4, 2013, and the season finale was aired months later, on March 28, 2014. Then, Kill la Kill Specials were released on September 3, 2014. It has clearly been a long time ever since we have heard anything about the second season, as nothing concrete has come out. However, it seems very unlikely that we will be getting a second season of Kill La Kill. The first season had a conclusive ending. All the villains were defeated and the Life Fibers were all destroyed. Maybe it’s best if we let the show rest.
What is ‘Kill la Kill’ About?
This anime’s story revolves around two schoolgirls Ryuuko Matoi and Satsuki Kiryuuin, who are in a fictional high school called Hannouji Academy in the Tokyo Bay area. The anime show starts off after Ryuuko’s father is murdered. She goes down to hunt the killer across the land. The fact that there was only one lead – the missing half of an invention called the Scissor Blade- Ryuuko follows it and brings her to the doorstep of the famous school. This school is not an ordinary one but is ruled by a fearsome student council led by the cold and ruthless Satsuki Kiryuuin. That special is the only place where the elites enjoy superhuman abilities.
Whoever belongs to this school are usually members of the student council are supposed to wear ‘Goku Uniforms.’ Made of a special material known as Life Fibers, those who wear it attain superpowers. When Satsuki finds the allocation of Goku Uniforms through a battle of royale and king-of-the-hill called Naturals Elections, Ryuuko feels that it is the best time to challenge Satsuki and the Elite Four through which she will be able to find the culprit behind her father’s death. However, things didn’t go as Ryuuko planned, and despite wielding one-half of the Scissor Blade, she could not get the superpowers and is easily beaten by a student in a Goku Uniform. To save herself, she retreats to her razed home to recover from her injuries. It was only then she bumps into a sentient piece of clothing called Senketsu, made entirely out of Life Fibers. Senketsu starts working by Ryuuko’s blood and gets fused to her, making her enormously powerful. After gaining the superpower and with the Scissor Blade, Ryuuko returns to avenge whatever happened at Honnouji Academy and hopes that this time she will be able to defeat the Elite Four and face Satsuki. But things take a turn when a sinister plot comes threatening the Earth with big destruction.
