‘Murderville’ Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Murderville, Netflix’s latest comedy procedural murder mystery show—partly scripted and partly improvised—features celebrity guests trying to solve a crime. Will Arnett as Terry Seattle, an eccentric detective, and a celebrity guest undertake a murder investigation together and they have to improvise their way through a scripted murder investigation without the script. The show is based on the BBC Three show, Murder in Successville created by Andy Brereton and Avril Spary. The American version was developed by Krister Johnson. The first season premiered on February 3 and has only six episodes.

The first season features Arnett along with Haneefah Wood as Rhonda Jenkins-Seattle, the chief of police and soon to be Terry’s ex-wife, and Lilan Bowden as Amber Kang, the coroner. The celebrity guest stars who worked with Terry as rookie detectives include Conan O’Brien, Marshawn Lynch, Kumail Nanjiani, Annie Murphy, Sharon Stone, and Ken Jeong. The first season got mixed reactions but Arnett was praised for keeping the show in order.

Will There Be Murderville Season 2?

While Netflix has not yet announced another season, there is potential to work with for future seasons. The premise of the show leaves a lot of matters that work in favor of the show being renewed.

“We’re basically making Law & Order without a script,” Arnett told The Hollywood Reporter. “I do think people liked the idea that they could come in, they didn’t have to learn any dialogue and they could be themselves and just go for a ride,” he explained, adding, “And I have to give these people credit because it’s freakin’ scary as s***.” This could in turn work toward casting more stars in the future to be a part of more seasons.

Who Will We See In Murderville Season 2?

While a renewal has not yet been announced, show creator, Johnson is already looking at the stars he will be invited to the show in the future. “As a fan of the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl’s comedy chops, I think he would enjoy this show. I think that would be really fun,” he told Consequence as a potential detective in training for the second season. He went on to add, “There are literally a hundred people I could name who would be amazing to work with and who I think would have fun with it.” That’s a hundred potential episodes. That is if they can keep coming up with the murder scenarios to go with it.

When Will Murderville Season 2 Be Released?

Depending on when and if we get the renewal of the second season, it may be released in 2025.
