Life Sentence Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Fans are disappointed after they were burdened with the rather sad news about ‘Life Sentence’ not going to have another season. The story follows Stella (Hale) who has lived eight years of her life believing that her life is short and she is dying, which technically she was, as she was battling cancer. Stella was fond of sappy cancer movies that influenced her to think that she is the ‘manic pixie dream girl’ heroines of those movies, and she decides to live her last days happily. Therefore, she traveled all around the world and faced her darkest fears, and fell in love on an amazing trip to Paris.

However, her life stalls for a moment when she finds out that her cancer has been cured, and she is now forced to go on with the long-term consequences of the ‘live in the moment’ where she also decided to marry a complete stranger. The first season was produced by Doozer Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios. The show was executive produced by Erin Cardillo, Richard Keith, Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold, Oliver Goldstick, and Lee Toland Krieger. Let’s find out the whys’ and hows’ which led to the cancellation of ‘Life Sentence’ renewal.

Unfortunately, it does look like the show will not be getting a renewal. The cancellation news of ‘Life Sentence’ surfaced after the CW renewed its midseason drama ‘The 100’ for the sixth season.

As far as ‘Life Sentence’ is concerned, the lead actress, Lucy Hale confirmed the cancellation with a heavy heart on Twitter. “We created something important and pure,” Hale wrote, “and no cancellation can take that away.” However, this post might have confirmed that there will not be a second season, but the post didn’t tell us whether the first season’s storyline will be getting closure or will leave fans with a cliffhanger.

Why Is ‘Life Sentence’ Not Getting A Second Season?

Going with what Lucy Hale has posted about the sad ending of the ‘Life Sentence’ on CW, we know that no matter what, this show will remain closest to her and even though she didn’t want to let go of her character Stella so soon, she seemed to acknowledge that the first season of ‘Life Sentence’ got low ratings because of which CW had to take this step. The first season got mixed reviews from the critics as well, which affected the decision of giving this show a renewal.
