Netflix‘s pretty controversial CG anime show Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 came back with its second season back in May 2022 presumably bringing the show to an end. However, the not-so-conclusive ending has left fans wondering if there’s going to be another season. USA president Maki Terashima-Furuta on Anime News Network that the story being told was mostly intended to be covered in two seasons and it seems that the same has been accomplished. In the second season’s final episode, Major learns that Takashi has created doublethink which allows two separate realities to exist together without any friction, and then placed the entire human race on it. As we already know that Major is a dreamer and doesn’t necessarily separate her reality from fantasy, doublethink had 0 effects on Major. The third season, (if it happens) might see Major as she takes on the pretty evolved human race by herself. It can also revolve around the rest of the Public Security Section 9 who are kinda forced to deal with various situations without their head. One of the four superpowers might find out and try to stop the effect of Doublethink and that might be the start of the next conflict!
