Before entering what is arguably the most “extreme haunted house,” guests must read and sign a long waiver outlining their acceptance of the regulations.
Not only are the ghosts not real, but the whole thing feels more like a survival course than a corny Halloween party. For that reason, I don’t think it’s fair to label it a haunted house.
A video of the woman’s reaction to the ordeal has gone viral online.
TikTok user Scary Terry started a six-part TikTok series breaking down the bizarre video, and explaining what the haunted house experience is actually like.
An interactive “extreme haunt” in Tennessee called McKamey Manor has a cult-like following online, and it seems that some individuals use Halloween as a chance to sign up for it.
The attraction has a reputation for being fairly extreme, so it’s not simply a few individuals in masks springing out at you to scare you.
So extreme that, as stated on the website, “for your safety,” participants are required to agree to seven conditions.
Although some of them are somewhat ordinary, others raise some serious concerns…
According to the website a person must be: “21 and above, or 18-20 with parents approval.
“Completed ‘Sports Physical’ and Doctors letter stating you are physically and mentally cleared.
“Pass a background check provided by MM. Be screened via FB face time or phone. Proof of medical insurance. Sign a detailed 40-page waiver and pass a portable drug test on the day of the show.”
Yeah, they’re not joking around at all.
Individuals who voluntarily participate in this “interactive experience” are effectively inviting themselves to be abducted and subjected to hours of horrible torture.
Christina Buster, a 44-year-old participant who was videotaped after the encounter, is the one whose video the TikToker has been highlighting.
“You are a tough chick”, someone can be heard telling Buster off-screen, as the woman appears drained after the ordeal.
It seems like she had a haircut as well, and the TikTok host notes that she had a “full set of hair” before she began the experiment.
The woman expresses her gratitude to the workers for their support and encouragement, despite her occasional strong desire to leave.
Buster, for some reason, had taunted the organizers on Facebook for over a year before deciding to take part in it herself. She only lasted five minutes before being pulled out of the experience and in a shock twist, begged to return.
Ahead of her second time at McKamey Manor, according to a Guardian report, Buster said: “Last time was brutal.
“I’ve come back to test my limits, push myself further. I’m nervous and I’m scared. I’m expecting to be torn limb from limb, to get it worse.”
But in the end, she achieved her wish—an intense experience that she can claim as her own, one in which she improved upon her previous performance (I mean, she managed to spend an astonishing 4.5 hours inside that area).
If you’re looking for anything more intense than a man in makeup screaming “boo” for Halloween—something I’m not into—there’s a waiting list for you.
