‘Power’ Season 7: Everything We Know So Far

The crime drama series, Power first aired on Starz in 2014. It was created and produced by Courtney A. Kemp in collaboration with Curtis Jackson, aka rapper and musician 50 Cent. The series follows James St. Patrick, an intelligent but ruthless drug dealer who goes by the name “Ghost.” He wants to leave the criminal world and become a nightclub owner. We see how James tries to balance the transition between the two lives while avoiding being captured by the police and navigating his marriage and family while making this switch.

The show has six seasons, with the last season premiering on August 25, 2019, with 15 episodes. Here’s what’s in store for the future of the show.

Will There Be Season 7 Of Power?

The sixth season was confirmed before the fifth season premiered in 2018. “As Power wraps production on season five, we want to acknowledge and thank our spectacular Power team for producing another great season,” Carmi Zlotnik, Starz President of Programming, had said at the time. “We are also pleased to announce a pick-up for season six.” But just before the premiere of the sixth season the following year, it was announced that the show would be ending with the sixth season.

Zlotnik made the announcement of the series conclusion again, “Season 6 brings us to the end of what we know is just the first chapter of the Power story. However, as one chapter comes to an end, another will begin.” He added, “Courtney Kemp and 50 Cent have created a world rich with complex and dynamic characters and there are a number of stories we plan to tell as we continue to explore and expand the Power universe.” Rapper 50 Cent also announced that the series was ending but he had at least four spin-offs planned so “don’t trip.”

“We will follow some of your beloved Power characters beyond the scope of the initial series,” Kemp stated. “But we will play with your expectations of which characters, where, and the master timeline of it all, creating a Power universe as unpredictable as the original.” So there will not be a new season of Power. But there are the spin-offs.
