This Swedish beauty has conquered the ramps for over a decade, walking for almost every big brand in the fashion industry and establishing herself as one of the most sought-after models. Whether it's Louis Vuitton or Chanel, Carolina Herrera or Fendi, Christian Dior or Versace, she has worked with countless others in the fashion industry. The statuesque Frida Gustavsson might not have completely changed the course of her career but starring as Geralt of Rivia’s mother, Visenna, in a brief appearance on the show The Witcher, did help her a great deal to pursue an acting career. So, here are some of the facts about Frida Gustavsson which just might surprise you.
She was discovered at an IKEA at the age of 10 after which she chose a modeling career but in a candid interview with Schon Magazine, she revealed that acting was her first love indeed. She quoted:
I always was like a little theatre monkey. When I was little I would direct my brothers and make home movies and they’d be my backup dancers. I made my little brother wear a tutu and mime Tom Jones’ Sexbomb. I still have the video — the day he gets married, I will show it to him and he will murder me. It was always something that I had in me, but in my early teens, I lost my confidence.
Frida’s modeling career escalated after she opened the Valentino Haute Couture show in Paris in the fall of 2012 and ever since then, she has worked with Shiatzy Chen, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Lanvin, Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Celine, Hermès, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Blumarine, and Versace and Victoria’s Secret to name a few.
Frida got a chance to work alongside Henry Cavill in the first season of The Witcher which followed up with a role in Vikings: Valhalla where she plays a great Viking warrior named Freydis Eriksdotter.
We don't know enough about her private life because it seems she likes to keep her profession and personal life separate and doesn't overshare much on social media but we do know that Gustavsson married photographer Hjalmar Rechlin on 30 May 2015 in Sweden but they later divorced for reasons unknown. Then she married Marcel Engdahl and they got married in 2022.
We know that models are usually tall but Frida stands at an astounding 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in) which adds her to the list of one of the tallest high fashion models in the industry.
Other than being a successful model and an actress who has a promising career ahead, Frida also wants to design clothes and explore the other side of the fashion industry and we believe she is going to excel in that profession for sure.
