Not every project ends up becoming what the director envisioned it to become. In some cases, the director felt that the project was out of his control because of the studios who came and made edits that were not approved by the director. So, you can imagine how some projects reach the theaters with not meeting the expectations of the directors. Here's a list of movies that failed to satisfy the director and the audiences alike.

The movie was unlike any movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This movie was a mess. The man who was hired to direct this movie had worked on Game of Thrones before this. He said in an interview that he wanted this movie to have a "childlike wonder" and it ended up a pretty dark and serious movie.

The movie was originally shot in 2008 and was titled Nailed at that time. Finally, more than 6 years later in 2015, the movie got to see the light of day. Russell said, "I, unfortunately, am no longer involved in the project and cannot call it 'my' film."

The rough cut of the movie spanned more than 4 hours. However, the studios wanted that to be shortened with which the filmmaker was not happy at all. He later said that he felt "sold out" at the time.
