Valentine's Day is almost here, and while it can be a day filled with love it often becomes a pretty high-pressure day. A romantic day can come with expectations from your partner and, therefore, sometimes letdowns. Sometimes the little things in life give people the greatest of joys, a simple mug of coffee, a phone call with your long-distance friend, a hug from your pet after a long day, or a simple movie date on Valentine's day. Celebrating this day with lots of sugar and coms with your partner is the best I can come up with. Here's our list of 5 rom-coms that will brighten your Valentine's day

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

The movie tells the story of Peter and Sarah. Peter is dumped by Sarah, and heartbroken, he goes to Hawaii only to find out that he is staying in the same hotel as Sarah with her new boyfriend. The movie stars Jason Segan and Mila Kunis, and Kristen Bell.

The Proposal

A book editor faces the risk of deportation to Canada, so she forces her younger male assistant to marry her just so that she can get a green card. During a trip to visit his family and in order to sell the lie. However, in the process, they fall in love. Some people have called it a pretty questionable plot with #MeeToo coming into play. Nonetheless, this movie still features in all the lists of greatest rom-com of all time. The movie features Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in the lead roles.

500 Days of Summer

The millennial pick of this list! The harsh reality of meeting somebody to think that they are the one only to realize that they aren't. This is an excellent non-romance romantic comedy starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. However, I would suggest you watch this only if you have been in a relationship for quite some time now, or else watch alone please for all the feels!

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

A personal favorite of mine, a truly mind-bending take on rom-com. The movie dives deep into breakdowns and breakthroughs. The movie is trippy and comical, with amazing acting and a sweet underlying message. The movie features Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet in the lead roles. The movie is sure to stay with you even after the credits roll.

Happiest Season

The movie stars Kristen Stewart in the lead role. This Queer rom-com will fill your heart with joy. The show is all chaos and laughter and has loads of drama to keep you entertained. The story is about Abby and Harper. The two visit Abby's family, but before leaving, Abby discloses that they have to act like straight friends because she was yet to come out to her family. The movie is available only on Hulu.
