Let's have a look at some of the most iconic bad guys on screen.
Most movies have a bad guy. Superhero movies have bad guys in the form of supervillains. Over the years the antagonists have been either completely evil or they're more layered with a kind of complexity that intrigues us. Some "bad" guys make us feel for them because there's usually some heartbreaking back story as to why they became the way they are. They're not always serial killers or monsters frothing at the mouth, out for death and destruction. Strangely not every villain is entirely loathsome. Nevertheless, in most cases, villains are essential parts of great movies. Their plotlines make the story more interesting and add depth to the main "hero" as well. Actors who do a good job can often leave a permanent mark on viewers, and if they're REALLY good they'd end up winning an Oscar.
While writers sometimes create these characters for us to despise movie villains and cheer the hero on, plenty of movie-goers end up being more fond of these antagonists. Because over the years, you realize not everything is so black and white. Not every human is purely good and purely evil. We're all made of complex stuff and characters that have multiple layers and depth to them intrigue us way more than clear-cut heroes and villains. Having said that, let's look at some of the best movie villains that left quite an impression on cinema lovers.
Here are the 15 greatest movie villains of all time:
I’ll be honest. I probably don’t like Lion King as much as other people. I still think it’s great tho. But the best thing about it for me was Scar. He started my obsession with villains. Made me a fan of them and showed me how much they add to a story. pic.twitter.com/1sDpkhwyO6
