Surveillance Footage Captures Horrifying Moment Man Opened Fire At Father’s Alleged Killer In Court

During a trial in Brazil, a man shoots at his father's alleged killer, captured on CCTV.

Surveillance Footage

Surveillance footage has captured a harrowing moment when a man unleashed gunfire within a courtroom during the trial of his father's alleged killer.

The incident unfolded on October 5, 2012, when Francisco Alves was fatally shot. Nearly a decade later, in November 2023, Francisco Cleidivaldo Mariano De Moura, aged 38, faced trial for Alves' murder in a courtroom located in São José do Belmonte, Brazil.

However, the trial took a drastic turn when Cristiano Alves Terto, aged 27 and the son of the victim, drew a firearm and began firing at De Moura, an event captured on CCTV footage recently made public.

De Moura purportedly confessed to the fatal shooting of Alves, recounting an encounter where he claimed to have encountered Alves while searching for a lost donkey from his farm. Allegedly, Alves responded with hostility, accusing De Moura of theft. An altercation ensued, during which De Moura fired multiple shots, resulting in Alves' eventual demise after being hospitalized for over two weeks.

Despite initially fleeing to Salgueiro, De Moura was eventually apprehended and brought to trial in November 2023, only for the proceedings to be abruptly halted by Terto's actions.

On November 29, during De Moura's trial, Terto, fueled by emotion, seized a firearm and discharged it at De Moura six times. The CCTV footage depicts Terto rising from his seat, evading an attempt to restrain him, and advancing toward De Moura. He then fired multiple rounds at De Moura before engaging in a physical altercation, striking him with the firearm. Terto was subsequently subdued and removed from the courtroom.

De Moura, though wounded, survived the assault and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The Tribunal de Justiça de Pernambuco confirmed De Moura's survival but stated that the jury has yet to reconvene, and a new trial date has not been scheduled.

Terto was promptly incarcerated following the courtroom incident.
