Doja Cat's arrival at the Met Gala in a wet T-shirt has fans saying she should be banned.

Upon arriving at the Met Gala red carpet last year, where Karl Lagerfield's cat, Choupette, was honored, many were excited to see what Doja Cat would wear to this year's event at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

And for the 'The Garden of Time' theme, which was based on a J.G. Ballard short tale from 1962, and this year's exhibit topic, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," the singer chose to dress in an oversized t-shirt that was wet and appeared like it was right out of the shower.

Doja appears to have come straight from the bathroom onto the carpet in her first clothing, with one towel wrapped around her torso and another on her head.

To finish the look, she added makeup that appears to run down her face, yet she still had time to put on some platform heels.

In the second image, Doja—full name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini—is seen taking off her hair towel to reveal her bleached blonde hair and is dressed in what appears to be an oversized t-shirt that is drenched in water.

People quickly flocked to social media to offer their opinions on the appearance.

A person commented, saying, "Don't invite Doja Cat next year if this is her only outfit." Anna Wintour, pay attention. "Did you not ban her from the Met Gala the previous year?"

"I fear she won't be invited again," said someone else.

"If this is the final look, Doja cat should be banned from the #metgala," remarked a third person.

"Doja Cat - I would’ve sent her home and banned her from all future Met Galas for wearing this nonsense 0/10," a fourth resolved.

Some, though, adored the appearance.

"She has an insane eye for fashion and performative art pieces. This is by no means the most luxurious outfit there, but she just never stops thinking outside the box," a user said. "I've always appreciated her talent and artistic vision."

Additionally, the singer discussed the inspiration behind the look in an Entertainment Tonight interview.

She said: "So, I know that people are going to do flowers but my flower of choice is the most used flower which is cotton.

"And so I wanted to do a white t-shirt, also because a white t-shirt is timeless and it felt very poetic to choose this.

"And I knew it wasn't going to blend in too much and I don't really like to blend in. So, we went with this."

Doja also clarified she was 'actually wet', while wearing the look, her team having used hair gel all over her body.

She added: "I'm performing. It's a show tonight."
