Although Coachella is often perceived as a music utopia where anything is possible, disregarding this cardinal rule can come with a hefty price tag.

Coachella is renowned for its electrifying atmosphere, where throngs of fans and musicians unite to revel in the sounds of their favorite artists. Nevertheless, there are regulations that must be adhered to, and flouting them can lead to consequences.

Reportedly, songstress Lana Del Rey learned this lesson after wrapping up her performance during the festival's second weekend. According to TMZ, the artist incurred an estimated $28,000 expense for breaching the festival's stringent guidelines regarding the duration of her set.

Before any concerns arise, these rules don't pertain to the selection of songs but rather to their duration.

As per the outlet, the city of Indio imposes substantial fines on Coachella for every minute it exceeds the stipulated curfew.

Allegedly, Lana Del Rey exceeded her allotted time by 13 minutes, which may not sound severe initially, but within the framework of the agreement between organizers and the city, it translates into a significant financial penalty.

City officials have purportedly disclosed to the media that, pursuant to their arrangement with Goldenvoice, the festival faces a daily penalty of $20,000 for the first five minutes past curfew, escalating to an additional $1,000 per minute thereafter.

Despite this financial setback, Lana Del Rey's admirers remain undeterred, lauding her for delivering a memorable performance at the event.

During her set, she performed 19 songs, including an unexpected appearance by Camila Cabello, who debuted her latest single, 'I LUV IT'.

Feedback from fans was overwhelmingly positive, showcasing their enthusiasm for her performance.

According to a representative, this penalty constituted the sole infraction during the festival's second weekend, implying a relatively favorable outcome for the organizers overall.

In a similar incident last year, British DJ Calvin Harris courted controversy for exceeding his allotted time and violating curfew regulations.

Despite arriving 30 minutes behind schedule, Harris ensured that his fans were treated to an unforgettable performance, captivating a crowd of over 100,000 attendees.

While his tardiness and subsequent penalty could have cast a shadow over the experience, Harris expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform at Coachella, underscoring his appreciation for the iconic festival.
